Azores: a region of increasingly appreciated and recognized wines
Although the best-known island in terms of viticulture in the Azores is the island of Pico, wine––particularly white wine––is produced on several of the islands. The award winning Ameixâmbar and Rola-Pipa, both from Adega do Vulcão, are produced here in Faial.
You can try Azorean wines in the island’s bars and restaurants.
In Cantinho das Provas, an establishment in Horta that specializes in regional wines, you can do wine tastings, taste wine by the glass or bottle, accompanied by different snacks, buy bottles to take home, and discover a little more about wine production in the Azores and the specificities of the wines from each island.
