Visiting the Neighboring Islands - Discover Faial - Island of Nature & Culture

From Faial, visit Pico and São Jorge Islands

One of the advantages of traveling to Faial is that you can visit the other islands of the Azorean Triangle, namely Pico and São Jorge.

From Horta there are daily ferries all year round to Pico and São Jorge. The trip to Madalena do Pico is just 30 minutes and to Velas in São Jorge it takes 2 hours.

To visit either of these islands, you can choose one of the following options:

  • Arrange an island tour or a specific activity with a tour company
  • Rent a car, motorcycle, or bicycle to visit the points of interest
  • Take a car, motorcycle or bicycle on the ferry (we recommend booking in advance. Rented vehicles must always be returned to their island of origin and usually the companies require authorization and an extra fee)

You can also choose to return to Faial on the same day or stay on the other islands for one or more nights.

Ferry schedules vary throughout the year. For more information and ticket reservations, visit www.atlanticoline.pt.
