Mountain biking is an excellent adrenaline-fueled way to discover Faial.
There are several routes that can be taken of greater or lesser difficulty. Some trails are quite safe and can be explored calmly, even by families with children. However, if you want to venture onto more difficult circuits, we recommend you contact a specialized local company.
The only official marked trail is the MTB Circuit – Capelo Forest Park, a circular 2km trail of low difficulty, which runs through the middle of a dense forest with characteristic species of Laurissilva. More information here.
What about the bicycle?
– Can be rented in the city of Horta
– Some accommodations offer/rent bicycles
– You can hire a specialized company to organize the activity: equipment rental, route selection, transportation, etc.
