The islands of Faial, Pico and São Jorge were the scenario chosen by the organization of the Golden Trail Series, one of the most important Trail Running circuits in the world, organized by the company Salomon, for the realization of the Grand Final of the Golden Trail National Series.

Throughout the year, athletes will compete in the qualifying races of the different GTNS in SPAIN / PORTUGAL, FRANCE / BELGIUM, ITALY, CZE / SK / POL, UK, USA-CANADA, GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND, NORDIC COUNTRIES, MEXICO to participate in this GTNS Grand Final.

This final will be part of Triangle Adventure, a Trail Running event that takes place in the 3 Islands of the Azorean Triangle annually organized by Azores Trail Run®.

It is worth remembering that in 2020 Salomon chose Ilha do Faial to host the Golden Trail Championship and that, in 2019, it went to 4 Azores Islands, including Faial, for its annual Trail Camp, always with the support of the Azores organization Trail Run® which is headquartered in Faial Island and organizes Trail Running events in several islands of the archipelago
