From February 2nd to 18th, on the islands of São Miguel, Faial, Pico, and Flores, 6 different formations will perform in 12 concerts. Além Mar asserts, as its main mission, the guidance of an interatlantic cultural and social dialogue by converging the musical expression of the islands with that of mainland Portugal. It demonstrates, in the direction of this focus, a typology and programming that are completely innovative and unique in the region it operates, creating, in addition to concert programming, opportunities for training for both general and specialized audiences.

The Festival also aims to showcase Portuguese repertoire in its historical and stylistic variety, bringing together musical groups and recitals that explore everything from Early Music to Contemporary Music, including instrumental and vocal repertoire.
