Faial once again establishes itself as one of the great stages of Atlantic trail running with the return of the Ultra Blue Island, whose 2026 edition promises to raise the bar in terms of challenge, excitement, and international visibility for the island.

Scheduled for May 1–3, 2026, the event invites athletes and nature lovers to explore some of the most impressive landscapes in the archipelago, crossing iconic trails within the Faial Natural Park. Highlights include the majestic Caldeira, the lunar landscape of Capelinhos, and the stunning coastal paths where the Atlantic is ever-present.

With routes designed for different levels of preparation, the event continues to offer a wide range of distances, providing challenges for both elite athletes and amateur runners:

• Coast to Coast (42 km)
• Ten Volcanoes (25 km)

Following the growing success of recent editions, which brought hundreds of participants from multiple nationalities to Faial, the organization once again aims to strengthen the event’s position as a reference in the international trail running calendar. The combination of sport, nature, and Azorean authenticity continues to attract not only athletes but also visitors seeking unique experiences.
