The Festas do Varadouro will take place this year from September 3rd to 7th, with days filled with music, tradition, and fellowship by the famous natural pools of the parish of Capelo.

The program once again brings together the richness of Faial’s culture, combining activities at sea and on land. Among the highlights are the whaleboat regattas, a symbol of the island’s maritime heritage, and sport fishing, which attracts both participants and spectators to Varadouro Bay.

On land, the festivities feature traditional games, folk marches, dances, concerts, and the religious celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes. The food stalls with regional flavors and the festive atmosphere make these celebrations a meeting point for residents, visitors, and emigrants returning at this time of year.
