The World Travel Awards is an event that recognizes and rewards “excellence in the tourism industry sectors” since 1993. Today, the WTA is recognized globally as the ultimate quality brand, with winners setting the benchmark for everyone else aspire.

And this was not the only award won by the region in 2021, which had already been elected a Platinum “Quality Coast” destination, an international award that distinguishes coastal environmental quality for sustainable tourism. In the criteria defined by Green Destinations, the Azores achieved a level of compliance of 97.8% of the sustainability indicators: Destination Management; Nature and Landscape; Environment and Climate; Culture and Tradition; Social Welfare; Business and Hospitality.

The first moment will take place on September 4th with two very special concerts in the open-air amphitheater of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores: B Fachada and MONDAY.
